Poor communication after contract was signed. No one updated me about an appointment for the design center UNTIL I emailed multiple different people. The salesperson assured me that we would be able to have electrical outlets in the floor and I could choose the placement at the design center. Design center then tells me it's too late plans have already been submitted. Mind you it was 6 months from the time I spoke with that salesperson and had a meeting with the design center. During those 6 months NO ONE reached out to me to ask about outlets or that final plans were being submitted. We were also told we HAD to choose a window color MONTHS before going to the design center only for the windows not to be ordered until after the meeting and it delayed our home. We were also assured at the design center and prior to signing the contract we would have regular updates from our builder only to be told from the salesperson "we no longer do that because the builders are busy". No one communicated that to us and we had to basically demand that the builder meets with us, which he was happy to do. In fact he mentioned that he enjoyed meeting with the buyers. The communication prior to signing the contract was constant. The communication AFTER signing the contract was non existent unless you emailed and called managers. If given another option I can't be sure I would build with Ideal or refer anyone to them. Understandably Ideal is busy but there is no excuse not to send a short email explaining that plans are going to be submitted soon and here are the list of things that have to be decided upon soon. Not only that, spec homes are obviously given the priority while homes with buyers are delayed.

My builder was great , I had to make changes to my financing close to closing date and Ideal was helpful and professional. James and Kristi are great. I am still missing two screens for my windows on the back patio. The screens that were placed are too small and they have yet to be replaced. The painting inside and out is not high quality.

Ideal Homes customer service has been very responsive to the minor issues we have encountered and I am pleased with the commitment to provide quality service. One of the dislikes is the hardware used in the interior doors, as they have begun to back out due to the small-sized screws used.

I have had to call customer service out too many times. I wasn’t expecting to find a whole lot of flaws or need things repaired/replaced as I have had to in the last 11 months.

My family has really enjoyed making our house a home for the first time in my military career. However, I was expecting a visit from someone at Ideal to discuss any issues with the home during the 60-day /6-month mark. No one has come to discuss the minor discrepancies, but I plan to call the warranty office to inquire about the respective items this week.

The neighborhood is nice and friendly with decent parks. However we were originally under the impression the neighborhood had a fitness center and pool access for all residents. I wish communication throughout the process was more informative as we did not receive a pre-drywall walk through and were originally told once the driveway was laid closing would be 60-90 days out. However we were emailed the week of the driveway laid that closing would be 14 days from that point. Also, the sod was not water consistently. The home has been pleasant since the move in and we’re happy with majority of the house but those we some of the few issues we wish were communicated and addressed earlier.

No communication with the builder the whole experience. We never had any real expectations of what was going on our time frames. We felt like we were one of the first few people to buy but our house was one of the last ones to be completed. We did not enjoy feeling like we were in the dark the majority of the process. Our home was super filthy when we moved in. Still finding splatter spots on the floors, base boards are filthy, grout lines not cleaned up.

Finishes are subpar to someone that actually pays attention. Baseboard is not tight against corners in several areas with there being as much as 1/4" open gaps from the edge of base to corner of the wall. Grouting has rubbed off from master bath shower in several areas which leaves me with concerns for potential water intrusion. It's taken me probably 7 coordination meetings with the QA/QC department to fix drywall, baseboard, and re paint it in my pantry with me always having to follow up on the next step. Overall, the house is pretty good and I am happy. However, as a commercial builder, i expected higher quality with regards to finishes.

The initial move in was a bit rocky due to the house not being ready on the closing date. We identified certain things shortly after move in that were not completed (weight/balancing of fan, sealing of hard wood floors, etc) but customer service was great and made it all bearable.

Communication was not the best initially until I made direct contact with my Superintendent. Coming from the construction industry myself, Ideal Homes in my opinion should always have the Superintendent touching base with the client. That being said, I took it upon myself to develop a great personal relationship with my Superintendent. John Potts was extremely responsive and willing to work around my schedules and address any concerns I had.

The customer care team is great! They will come out when you call them. I have several things that I need to have them come out to look at and fix currently. There are some things wrong with the home that reflects the quality of the work. Also, I feel that some of the issues I’m having shouldn’t happen this soon in a new home.

This is the 3rd Ideal Home since 2014all purchased brand new. There is a definite change in the quality and workmanship within this house which is for below the standards of the previous two homes purchased in 2014 and 2015. Pricing much higher and quality nuch lower. Very dissppointed in this experience.

The overall quality was pretty good, but not as good as I expected or hoped from touring the model homes. For instance, the grout and tile from bathroom, floor, and kitchen were borderline sloppy and uneven in certain areas. Ideal definitely kept their warranty promises, but sometimes it took longer than expected.

Betty Farrar is an amazing person to work with. She really went above and beyond for us the entire way through. Can’t say enough good things about her!! There were some hiccups with the design selections being messed up. I reached out to Betty and she was on it immediately to fix the problems. The only complaint I have so far is one of our locks didn’t work when we moved in. I called customer care the day after we moved in, and we have yet to hear anything from them. It’s been well over a month now.

We absolutely loved our builder. He was amazing at communication and making sure all our concerns were heard and addressed. We had some initial frustration with the sales team due to communication issues but after we expressed this frustration we were able to speak with a manager and it was addressed through switching to a different sales member who was amazing. We also had some stress and frustration with the in house lender. However, we love our floor plan, the location or our home, and truly John Potts, our builder, was the absolute best part of the experience.
