Since 1984, Eliant has been independently evaluating the performance of homebuilders across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East:

  • We ask recent homebuyers to evaluate their builder's purchase process.
  • Then, we ask homeowners to evaluate their builder's quality and service (1) after the first 5-months in the home, and (2) again at the end of the first year.

I would like to express my appreciation for the excellent communication and support I have received through [name removed], [name removed], and [name removed]. Throughout my interactions of each of them, I have been constantly impressed by their patience and willingness to answer all my questions thoroughly. They kept me well informed at every stage! They’ve have made the entire process much smoother and less stressful. However, the company‘s quality of subs to finish the work is not up to my standards for buying a $1.2 million home. When the subs have showed up for follow ups there has been a language barrier, which has made it hard to communicate with them to finish the work that needed to be completed. We even found one subs in our master bedroom, which there was absolutely no work to be done, which was alarming. Working with Jennifer Yarberry was very enjoyable. She made the buying experience very easy and helped us along the process in any way possible. Getting things fixed/taken care of around the house has been a good experience as well. The experience with getting a loan working through Universal Lending Company (ULC) was terrible. I can understand being thorough when getting approved for a loan, but it seemed that the expectations continuously changed. When we asked questions, we never got responses that were timely and/or helpful. I know we weren't the only new home buyers in the neighbor hood that had a terrible experience with ULC as well. I would highly recommend New Home Company finding another lending partner.

Contract to move in was great. There’s always going to be issues with new builds, and our experience was not exempt from that. We really appreciate [name removed]’s enthusiasm and welcoming spirit. What we dislike most is some of the “cut corners” like unfinished door jamb rough cut corners, paint all over the floor, and some of the silly mistakes like a cabinet being hung upside down.

Like: Design packages for options made buying process easy. Felt like used quality items. Everyone seemed happy and delightful to talk to from sales agent to foreman (construction supervisor) Dislike: Had to jump through hoops for inspection. Couldn’t add customer specific customization or additions.

The build quality seemed to be sub par in areas, the light fixtures retire we requested are off position, and there are other areas like floor and walls that has issues. The initial booking and building process was ok though.

MY WORST EXPRENCE WAS THEY CHANGE THE CLOSING DATE AFTER THE CONTRACT IS SIGNED, AND NOTICIFICATION THE NEW CLOSING DATE WITHNOT COMMUNICATION.

Working with Joanne and the team was easy. She was very accommodating and informative. The Loan process was a bit stressful for me as my situation was a bit complicated but I felt that things were not fully explained to me upfront in this regard. Also a number of items that were called out on our initial walkthrough have not been completed and are still unresolved.

Was not impressed with the loan partner. Quality of home was not on par with what I expected, especially electrical work. Lose wiring, bracket defects, bathroom vent buttons not working just to name a few

Kristin Coleman at The New Home Company played an essential role in making our home-buying experience smooth and stress-free. From the very beginning, she kept us closely connected to the construction process by regularly sending us photos and updates. Living far from the new home, we truly appreciated how she helped us feel involved every step of the way. She was proactive, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. When she learned about upcoming tax changes, she promptly informed us, ensuring there would be no surprises later. Even after she had been reassigned to other properties, Kristin continued to support us without hesitation, guiding us through the final stages of the process with the same care and commitment. One of the most critical moments came when there was a delay and miscommunication between our lender and the title company. Kristin quickly stepped in to coordinate communication between all parties—us, our mortgage broker, and the title company—and played a key role in ensuring that we still closed on time. Her dedication, responsiveness, and genuine care truly exceeded expectations. It was an absolute pleasure working with her, and we’re so grateful for everything she did to help us into our new home. -------------------------- Derek was incredibly helpful during our final walkthrough before closing. He was thorough and attentive, taking diligent notes on all the items that needed to be addressed. His follow-up with the construction crew was prompt and effective—he ensured that everything was taken care of both before and after closing. What stood out most was his depth of knowledge, down to the smallest details—he even knew the exact shade of paint used in a specific room! Derek’s professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to making sure everything was just right gave us great peace of mind. We truly appreciated his support and dedication during such an important time.

We bought home we were told we will get 15 k closing credit if we use [name removed] [name removed] but we got 5 k credit This is very very wrong I have been with us army and va hospitals for 43 yrs and never had broken promise I could have gotten better rate if I used some other bank

[name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] were fantastic. [name removed] was completed on time. It was not as clean as it could have been when we moved in. It needed a good cleaning and some paint on tile in bath and laundry room.
